Where the numbers come from, how they are checked, what the labels mean, and what PrePost does not do.
Every figure on PrePost carries a date and a source. A figure that cannot be sourced is left empty: "no independent evidence exists" is a finding, not a gap to fill. We never publish a number taken from a seller, a pitch deck or a requester's own documents.
Sources are used in this order, and a weaker one never overrides a stronger one:
Non-US figures are converted at the Federal Reserve's published rate for the transaction date.
New profiles and the Technology tab are researched once, then checked by a second, independent pass that has not seen the first one's reasoning and re-reads the source documents: each patent page, each paper, each acquisition announcement. The second pass has removed wrong founders, misattributed patents and out-of-date court rulings before they reached a page. Company performance claims appear only labelled as the company's claims.
Each current estimate carries a confidence label that describes the evidence behind it.
When the estimate is low confidence, the company page leads with the last priced round, the figure someone actually paid, and shows the estimate second with its gap to that round.
A score from 0 to 100 that lets you compare companies on three measures:
The exact weights are not published. The Index is not a rating of the investment: a company can score high and still be a poor deal at the price you are offered, which is what Check my offer is for.
No advice, no buy or avoid ratings, no probabilities of success, no recommended amounts. PrePost does not verify the person or firm making you an offer, and does not see your offer documents. It gives you sourced figures to set next to what you were told; the decision is yours.
PrePost does not sell or broker shares, and today it has no commercial relationship with any company, fund or seller it covers. If that changes, this page will say so, any paid relationship will be labelled wherever it appears, and it will never affect a published figure or the Index.
No cookies and no advertising trackers. Visits are counted in aggregate with GoatCounter, which does not identify individuals. Check my offer runs entirely in your browser: nothing you type there is sent anywhere. The only things that reach us are the forms you choose to submit, the company request and the feedback form.
Found a figure that is wrong or out of date? Tell us, with a source if you have one. Each page shows the date its figures are as of.
