$5.8B
last priced round · Series E, Apr 4, 2025
Current estimate $13.9B +142% · low confidence · Forge Price via Yahoo Finance, as of 2026-09-12 -- but this appears to have been mislabeled by aggregators as a 'Series F' priced round; no tier-1 outlet (Bloomberg, TechCrunch, Reuters) confirms any institutional financing at this level. A separate, real $500M CHIPS Act R&D award from the US Dept. of Commerce (with a minority non-voting government equity stake) closed Jun 17 2026 -- a different transaction, coincidentally the same headline dollar figure, and a plausible source of the mislabeling. Treat this valuation as an unconfirmed secondary-market mark, not a priced primary round.

SandboxAQ valuation history

Spun out of Alphabet in 2022 (chaired by Eric Schmidt); applies AI + quantum/post-quantum cryptography to security, biopharma, and financial services. No public Series B/C found -- funding labels jump from Series A to Series D. The Information reported (Jul 2025) that SandboxAQ was tracking well below the revenue projections it gave Series E investors (~$10M actual vs. $90M/2025 and $250M/2026 projected), calling the company's earlier success narrative 'illusory' -- a real credibility flag against any steep valuation step-up. Separately, a Jan 2026 TechCrunch report describes a wrongful-termination suit alleging CEO Jack Hidary misused funds and gave misleading financial information to investors (SandboxAQ calls the suit an extortion attempt) -- unresolved, relevant context for diligence.
